These lip products are Milani's new arrivals for 2009. I've had the chance to try two of these new lipgloss-and-lipstick-in-one from Milani. I tried the very red lip duo (Too Hot to Handle) and the bright pink-fuchsia duo (Too Sweet) and I was amazed at how pigmented these lipsticks are. They also have more neutral shades, but let me judge this product first based on texture and shine. The texture is very smooth and the lipstick glides on the lips like butter. Shine is absolutely phenomenal. I tried the pink-fuchsia duo and I was very impressed with the high wattage shine. This would look absolutely great at parties and nights out when you want your puckers to be the center of attention. I'd like to get a hold of the neutral duo because I would be using that neutral combination more often. For the price of this product, you would think Milani would scrimp on pigments but no, this thing is absolutely saturated with color.

Using Two Sweet

The lipgloss side is amazing as well. It is not the cheap lipgloss kind that is watery and hardly holds any color. It is actually like a liquid lipstick in itself because it is thick (but not sticky) and the coverage is more opaque than sheer. The combination makes absolutely va-va-voom lips.

Two Hot To Handle duo: See how pigmented both sides are?

I wasn't able to take a picture of the sliding mirror, but isn't it amazing that Milani thought about everything? In that little square of a product, it holds a lippie, a gloss and a mirror to boot. That makes it a great companion to tote around.

My only gripe is that I can't quite master which side is the gloss and which is the lipstick, so I twist one side to open when it should be pulled, and I pull one tube thinking it's the lippie, when in fact it needs to be unscrewed because it's actually the gloss. Maybe putting a label or color coding the caps would help.

All in all, I am very pleased with this product. The innovative design, functionality, cool shades and amazing shine and pigmentation are amazing, add affordability to this mix, and it can't be beaten. This is another new product that Milani is releasing this month, together with the new Lip Mixer Gloss that I'd also reviewed as part of Shades Of U's Milani Lip Series. Watch out for more of these series on this blog!

Milani Cosmetics are available in CVS drugstores nationwide, and select Walgreen's, Target and K-Mart.
